About me

Hi, my name is Jakob and I am 27 years old. I got infected with the “Scandinavia virus” at an early age, during some holidays that my family spent in Sweden and Norway. Since holidays tend to be rather short, I decided to spend part of my study time in Oslo to get to know more about the country and its people (and of course to study  a bit 🙂 I lived in Oslo for 1 year from 2011 until 2012. At this time I read about “Norge på langs” – a trip that connects the most southern point of the Norwegian mainland Cape Lindesnes with the North Cape. Year after year several people are embarking on this journey – some in summer, some in winter, some by foot, some by ski, some with the canoe. As diverse as the type of movement are the routes that people take. Some stay in Norway all the time while others pass through Sweden and Finland as well. After having read about it, the idea was stuck in my mind and developed from a wish to actual planning and saving up money. Now, 4 years later, a fair amount of planning has been done and a fair (hopefully sufficient) amount of money has been saved. So I took the plunge, quit my job, put my personal belongings into storage and will now, if everything goes as planned, spend the next five month out in the Scandinavian nature. As you probably by now would have expected, I am fond of nature and like to spend time outside – biking, hiking, running, juggling, you name it 🙂 Since my plans have attracted wide interest among my family, friends and acquaintances, I decided to write this blog. I hope that I will have the possibility to keep you posted on a regular basis. In this spirit – vi snakkes 🙂
